Logbook has no user accounts, no server and no analytics. The developer collects no personal data of any kind and cannot see your flight records. Everything you enter stays on your own device and, if you enable it, in your own private iCloud. There is nothing to opt out of, because nothing is being gathered.
Logbook · Pilot Flight Log is developed and published by Kunyu Cui, an independent developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app. It is written to be read, not to be survived — if anything here is unclear, get in touch.
Nothing. The app has no sign-up, no login, no user profile on our side, and no telemetry. We do not collect, receive, store, sell, rent or share:
This is not a policy choice that could quietly change tomorrow — the app ships with no backend to send data to and no third-party SDK capable of sending it.
| Data | Stored where | Who can read it |
|---|---|---|
| Flights, aircraft, pilot profile | Locally on your device | You only |
| The same data, if iCloud sync is on | Your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) | You only — tied to your Apple Account |
| PDF / CSV files you export | Wherever you choose to save or send them | Whoever you send them to |
| Purchase receipt for the Pro unlock | Handled by Apple, on your Apple Account | Apple and you |
If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, Logbook keeps your records in sync across your own Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit private database. Records in a private database are stored under your Apple Account. The developer has no access to that database — we cannot read, export or recover your flights, and no administrative back door exists.
That storage is governed by
Apple's Privacy Policy. If you prefer
no cloud copy at all, turn iCloud off for Logbook in Settings → Apple Account → iCloud;
the app continues to work fully offline with local storage only.
The one-time Pro unlock is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment details are entered on Apple's screens and are never seen by the app or by us. We receive only aggregated, anonymised sales reports from App Store Connect — units and revenue by territory, with no personal information and no way to identify who bought what.
When you export a PDF or CSV, the file is generated on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. From that moment it is an ordinary file under your control: where it goes, and who receives it, is entirely your decision. We are not involved in and have no visibility into that transfer.
Logbook is a professional record-keeping tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. Since the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.
Data-protection law gives you rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection over personal data held about you. In our case those rights have an unusually simple answer: we hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, delete or transfer, and no personal information has ever been sold or shared.
Your data portability is handled inside the app instead: CSV export is free and unrestricted, in every version, so you can take your complete records elsewhere at any time without asking anyone's permission.
Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage,
select Logbook, and delete its data.Your logbook is a career record and deletion is permanent — we keep no copy and cannot restore anything for you. Export a CSV first.
If the app ever gains a feature that changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the "last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes. Because the app has no account system, we have no way to email you — this page is the record.
